The SBM in Monaco, Courchevel and... Dubai!

The Principality's leading private employer, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer is among the “CREM Friends” and works closely with the Club.

161 years ago, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer invented a new art of living, combining gaming, luxurious hospitality, and entertainment, specifically designed for foreign travellers,” says Stéphane Valeri, Deputy Chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. “It is therefore perfectly natural that we are linked to CREM, to enable its Members to enjoy in turn the 'Monte-Carlo' experience which has built up the destination's reputation for over a century and a half.

The Group pursues its development mainly in Monaco, although it is soon to appear in Courchevel 1850 and Dubai! Stéphane Valeri makes it a point of honour to develop the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer first and foremost in the Principality. Recent and upcoming projects include the new Blue Bay Marcel Ravin, inaugurated in February 2024 at the Monte-Carlo Bay. Following extensive refurbishment, it now offers Chef Ravin a showcase worthy of his two Michelin stars status. Following the opening of La Brasserie in November 2023, the Amazónico Monte-Carlo restaurant, a festive new address for gourmets, opened in April 2024 on the roof of the new Café de Paris. Less than three months later, the restaurant L’Abysse, a concept of Yannick Alléno already awarded two Michelin stars in Paris and dedicated to the art of sushi, was launched at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.

Finally, autumn 2024 welcomed New Moods, a venue on the Place du Casino offering stand-up and live music with a finger-food menu designed by Marcel Ravin. To round it all off, the group will open a restaurant in the new Mareterra neighbourhood. A very exciting year for the SBM! As for hospitality, the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo and the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort are both being treated to facelifts and will embark on vast renovation projects in autumn 2024, whilst remaining open throughout.

“Riviera” restaurant in Dubai

As part of its international development strategy, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer crosses frontiers with the launch of a new restaurant concept in Dubai, scheduled for autumn 2025. To do so, it is relying on the expertise of Groupe D.ream International (Dogus Restaurant Entertainment & Management), a subsidiary of the Dogus Hospitality Group, a major player in the luxury and festive restaurants sector with 16 brands in 15 countries and 81 restaurants. The new restaurant brand will capitalise on what best represents Monte-Carlo: its 160-year history, its luxury lifestyle, and its culinary expertise, focusing in this project on the cuisine of the French and Italian Rivieras. “This agreement marks another step forward in our group’s international expansion, enabling us to cater to our clients wherever they travel and live,” says Stéphane Valeri.

Palace in Courchevel 1850

The prestigious resort of Courchevel 1850 in Savoy is also soon to benefit from the expertise of the SBM, which acquired Le Palace des Neiges in October 2023. With the collaboration of the Vallat group, a specialist in the valley's real estate market, sharing the same desire to pursue a hotel project of excellence, the Palace will undergo an in-depth restructuring, aiming to become the finest Palace in Courchevel 1850 by 2026-2027. For Stéphane Valeri, “it is extremely satisfying for our group to succeed, for the first time in its history, in finalising an international hotel acquisition project and to do so alongside some of the biggest names in luxury hotels in the Alps. Once restructured, the future establishment will represent a new growth opportunity for us, with seasonal complementarity for our human resources.
